ESPN STAR SPORTS ASIA'S NUMBER ONE SPORTS BROADCASTER ESPN STAR Sports is Asia's number one sports broadcaster and a 50:50 joint venture between ESPN Inc. and STAR. ESPN through its thirteen feeds - ESPN Asia, ESPN India, ESPN Taiwan, ESPN Philippines, ESPN Singapore, MBC-ESPN in Korea and ESPN Hong Kong - reaches over 139 million households while STAR Sports reaches over 64 million households through STAR Sports Asia, STAR Sports India, STAR Sports Taiwan, STAR Sports SEA, STAR Sports Singapore, and STAR Sports Hong Kong. On the ground, the ESS Event Management Group (EMG) manages and promotes premier sporting events around Asia. EMG specializes in creating managing, promoting, consulting, producing and syndicating world class sporting events throughout Asia. The Group has been awarded numerous awards, among them; Best Promoted Event in 1998 and 1999 awarded by theATP; Best Sporting Event in Hong Kong in 1998 and 1999 awarded by the Hong Kong Sports Development Board; and Best Event Organizer in 2000 Awarded by the Singapore Tourism Board. ESPN STAR Sports was the exclusive Asian broadcaster for the World Pool Championship 2004 held in Taiwan and the network will again host broadcast the World Pool Championship 2006 event in Manila in November.
